Growing up, I had access to some interesting repertoire of music. In that collection was a Broadway musical soundtrack to Promises, Promises. The soundtrack was in cassette and I had a cassette player in my room.
I remember hearing the songs of Promises, Promises:
“She Likes Basketball”
“She likes Basketball, how about that? Now, we have something in common to talk about…”
And “Turkey Lurky Time”
“It’s turkey lurky time… ” (I lost track after this, but it was a fun song).
and my favorite, “Our Little Secret”
“It’s our little secret and I’ll keep it deep inside me…”
I saw an article announcing that Promises, Promises is returning to Broadway. The Neil Diamond show from the 1960’s is opening in April. What fun!
